Here's the free pattern. ch 29, hdc in 2nd ch, ch1 turn, Repeat until size measures back from shoulder to shoulder. (This can be made shorter or longer) For armhole, hdc in first 2, ch 10, skip next 10 st, hdc across, (armhole can be made shorter or longer. ch1 turn, hdc across and across ch in blo, Repeat until front is half the size of the back. Repeat for other side. Sew top of shoulders. Join in armhole, hdc around. Continue for length of sleeve. sc around last row of sleeve. Sc around entire sweater.

Free Crochet Brooch Pattern

Here is something for your hook. This is a brooch I am making. Small amount mohair yarn I hook Beads, Buttons Ch 2 7 dc in 2nd ch from hook, Join to 1st dc Ch 3, sc in next St, around (Sl st, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sl st) in each ch 3 sp from previous row, Ch 5, (make sure ch goes behind other petals) sc in sc from previous row. (sl st, hdc, 5 dc, hdc, sl st) around, fasten off. Weave in ends, Thread needle with thread, sew button in center. OR Bring needle from back to front, add a bead and take needle back through. Keep doing this until you have the beads you want on. Make a small circle out of felt. You can use a pill bottle for a pattern. Make 2 slits in circle. Space apart to fit pin back. You can either sew or glue pin back to circle. I prefer to sew. (optional)

You can also add an alligator clip. Then sew circle to flower.

Meet Winky

This is Winky. He is a very old Shih Tzu Poodle mix rescued from the Dog Pound. His eyes were completely matted shut. He was full of matts, poop and filth. I took him to the vet's. He is blind, has an eye and upper respiratory infection. His teeth are also bad, so he has bad breath. I worked for over an hour just getting the gunk out of his eyes. It was hard to even find his eyes. My groom, Dar's Dog Parlour in Warren Ohio did a fantastic job cleaning him up. He had to be shaved because of all the knots.

I Saved another Shelter Dog

We went to the Trumbull County Animal Welfare league and adopted him. The girls named him Clifford while we were at the shelter. I must thank all the volunteers there. There are several versions or ways to make a pillowcase dress. This is how I make mine. This is such a versatile little dress. They cute and comfy and can be adjusted in size with the ribbon, either pulling it tighter to make it a little smaller or loosening it up to make the dress a little bigger. This dress can be worn all year round. In the colder months, add a shirt underneath and even some leggings!!! They are easy to make and you can always get creative and add your own little quirks, such as a border etc! You can use fabric of your choice or even an acutal pillowcase :) Pillowcase Dress (One size fits most: 3T 4T 5T) Measurements are approx. 20 inches from armpit to armpit and 25" in length. You will need 7/8 yard of fabric, washed, ironed...right sides together...now let's get going. :) (1) Cut our the arm holes. Here I have a cut out of fabric as it holds up longer than a pattern. Pin this on your fabric as shown in the photo. When pinning, one side will be on the fold, curve of the pattern towards the inside, cut. Then go straight across to the other side and place your pattern, pin and cut. The photo below shows the not on the fold side. Now open up your fabric and place right side down on a flat surface and cut to make two pieces (a front and a back) With right side of fabric down, fold the arm holes approx. 1/4 of an inch over and iron, then repeat again, iron and pin. Sew the armholes. I use my quilting sewing foot and it works perfectly, since the area we are sewing is so small. Iron you fabric as the armholes you just sewn may tend to curl. Put both pieces right sides together, matching up the arm holes and pin the sides. It's time to put these two pieces together! Leave approx a half inch seam. Now your front and back of the pillowcase dress have been sewn together and you now have one piece. Turn right side out. Now it is time to add the ribbon. I use 7/8" grosgrain and cut two pieces approx 45" long. Take the top of your dress and fold it over approx. 1/4 inch and iron Now take your ribbon and place it across as shown in the photo Now take and fold the top over the ribbon leaving approx 1/4 inch "gap" between the ribbon and the very top that you just folded over. Iron and pin. You do not want the ribbon caught up when sewing, so make sure you leave a little room to sew. Repeat these steps for the other side. Now turn your fabric inside out and let's get ready to pin our hem :) For this size of dress, I measure 25 inches for the length. Mark 25 inches with a straight pin. I like to iron open the seam from the bottom up to about where my pin is marking 25 inches. Fold the bottom up to where your pin is and remove the pin, Make sure both sides are even and iron. Fold again, iron and pin. Now your dress is the desired 25 inches in length. Always double check and measure to make sure it is even all around. TIme to sew the hem. I leave just a little space between my sewing foot and the edge. (see photo) Sew all the way around. Be careful not to sew any other part of the dress into the part you are sewing. :) It is easy to do when sewing the hem. Now it is time to do the ribbon. Sew across the top as shown in the photo. Make sure you do not sew any of the ribbon. When done, do the other one. Make sure your ribbon can slide easily back and forth. Fold the top as shown in photo, making sure the ribbon is even. Mark the middle with a straight pin and sew up and down (top to bottom) Just a little stitch back and forth to hold the ribbon in place. Turn your dress right side out and iron. Cut off any dangling threads. Time to seal the ribbon ends. I like to use a lighter as fray check is always messy for me and can stain. Take a lighter (on low flame) and whisk it swiftly back and forth on your ribbon ends. This makes a clear seal. Practice on a scrap piece of ribbon first til you get the hang of it. Congratulations.
